Maths Week 2025 is here, and we’re kicking things off with an exciting home learning challenge! This is your chance to get creative, have fun with numbers, and showcase your mathematical thinking.
For our first home learning challenge, we’d like you to choose a number and create a poster displaying different ways to represent it. You can show your number using:
We can’t wait to see your fantastic ‘Ways to Show a Number’ posters! Get your thinking caps on, grab your pencils, and start creating.
Happy Maths Week!
I just can’t stop beaming with pride with this lovely lot lately. Here they are working so hard on some amazing instruction writing. They even asked me on Friday morning if they were writing today, I just love the excitement and engagement from them. Well done guys.
This week we have been learning about Doctors. How they help us, what they do, where they work etc. It has led to lots of interesting conversations and some wonderful imaginative play.
Last week we posted a letter explaining the changes to the way we will be changing reading books in school. We have put together some slides to offer further support to parents about the types of books your child will bring home.
Please remember to read the letter sent to parents and sign the consent form for your child to bring home their reading books. From now on we request that all children return their reading books every Friday.Â
If you have any further questions or concerns please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Mavis has been showing off her super reading today by reading one of her favourite books from home to the rest of the class. Mavis read with absolutely beautiful expression and the children were laughing at the funny parts of the story. This week we have been learning about rhyming words and the children enjoyed spotting the rhyming words in the story.
Well done Mavis! I am super proud of you.
We have had an amazing first week back at school in Class 5. We have thoroughly enjoyed hooking ourselves into our new Expedition: Ready, Steady, Grow – How can I be the healthiest version of me? During this Expedition we will be studying Art, Science and DT. This week we have done lots of crafts to decorate our classroom and immerse ourselves into our new expedition. The children in Class 5 certainly love craft activities! We have also had a practice at using shrinking plastic to make a name keyring. We will be using shrinking plastic to make our final product for this expedition and the children loved seeing how it worked. We can’t wait to take our keyring home to show you! Maybe you could put them on your book bag or backpack?
To end our fabulous week we had a visit from Mrs Raynor who did a fun dance/exercise workshop to show us the effects exercise has on our mood and our body. It was so much fun. Even Miss Schon enjoyed joining in!
It has been great to be able to meet with parents this week to discuss children’s progress during their SLCs too! What a busy week it has been.
Here our some photographs to show you what we have been up to!
