Hi! For those who participated in the tournament, please can you bring back your football kits back to school ASAP! These include shirts, shorts and socks. Some have even borrowed shin pads, so we need to ensure they are all back too.
Today, Year 3 and 4 were lucky to be able to visit XP for a tournament against other Trust schools: Norton Juniors and Plover.
The tournament started with a match between both Green Top teams, with a hard fought contest between year 3 and 4. The Year 3 team had a great time, showed lots of resilience and never gave up. They just kept going and scored some beautiful goals. For much of Year 3, this was their first time playing games together, so should be proud of their efforts.
The highlight for Year 3 was their 1-0 win over Plover, with a great move sealing the win. The team defended well and it was great to see a clean sheet being kept!
Year 4 had some hard fought games, winning a number and drawing a couple of others. The game of the tournament was their 4-4 draw, where they never gave up and showed tremendous resilience.
We can’t wait to keep building as teams and improving with more games in the future!
Myself and Mr Taylor really appreciate adults helping out with lifts, we really could not have done it without you.
Marcus did a wonderful job of leading our starter activity in expedition this week! He used our protocols and ‘cold called’ the children for their responses and he asked lots of great questions to further their learning! He also gave lots of praise! Well done Marcus, you did a fantastic job!
Scarlett and Amber have created some beautiful home learning based on the things we have been learning about in class over the last couple of days! Well done girls!
We had lots of fun last Friday to celebrate Red Nose Day! It was so lovely to see lots of our children in red and enjoy a treasure hunt planned by Miss Barnett and the school council!
Happy Red Nose Day! It is great to see so many of you dressed in red to show your support today. Thank you for all your generous donations. The school council have one last challenge for you! Over the weekend, we wonder how many different red things you can find.
You could have a look around your house or even venture outside on a walk. Count how many different red things you can find to share with your crew on Monday. You could even take some pictures or draw what you can see.
Jack, our crew councillor, did a wonderful job of leading his crew in a science investigation involving fingerprints! He was so patient and supportive with everyone and did a great job of explaining the task! It was really interesting to see everyone’s finger prints and figure out whether they were made up of loops, arches or whorls! Fantastic work Jack!
Well done to all our winners from this week! Whether you are a ’Star Reader’, ’HoWLs point winner’, our ‘Out of This World’ for this week or even just had a shout out, everyone of you have been a deserved winner. Well done!
Today marks the start of British Science Week and we can’t wait to get involved when we get back to school next week. Each crew will take part in a fascinating fingerprint investigation led by the school council. We will also have science club attending the coffee afternoon (Wednesday 15th) to share some of the exciting things we get up to at science club.
In the meantime, there are a few challenges you can get involved in at home and bring into school next week.
For Tuesday – Create a timeline of scientists through history. What are some of the greatest discoveries and who made them?
For Wednesday – Invent like a Victorian. Channel your inner inventor and design something to make life at home easier.
For Thursday – See and Eat Vegetables. Investigate the connection between how vegetables grow and how they end up on your plate.
You could also find your own investigations to try! Send any pictures of you being a scientist to your phase leaders. We can’t wait to see what you get up to!
