Yesterday the children watched The Lorax too hook them into their learning on rainforests and deforestation. Today, they enjoyed drawing some colourful truffula trees as well as The Lorax himself! After break, we developed our knowledge of the rainforest further by building background knowledge on each of the layers.
Year 5 will be participating in XP Outdoors this half term on a Thursday and PE on a Friday.
Please ensure your child has the correct change of clothing for each session.
Thank you
Year 5
What a lovely day we’ve had to finish what has been a fantastic first week back!! We enjoyed spending time in the new library and then this afternoon we absolutely loved the water extravaganza!
Year 5 want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their kind donations which allowed us to go to Thorne Moorends food bank and deliver a wonderful amount of food which will help many families in the community!
We had great fun this afternoon orienteering completing timed challenges! Despite the tiredness from camp, Harrison and Charlie from Crew Knowles came first out of the whole school with an incredible time of 3mins 41 seconds!! They were closely followed by Macky and Junior with an amazing time of 3mins 51 seconds! Well done boys – smashed it!
Please join us for our Year 5/6 family learning event on Wednesday 3rd September 2-3pm! Our family learning session will involve orienteering outdoors and we can’t wait!
A huge thank you to Time and Plaice who provided our tea completely free of charge at our Year 5 camping event! We are so grateful for your kindness and generosity and the children said the food was better than Gordon Ramsay’s! Thank you!
