class 12 – reading lesson

This picture is nothing fancy, but it was a very happy teacher moment!

This picture shows how much focus my whole class had during the start of their reading fluency session. We are working on reading accurately with good pace when faced with a larger text. The effort and concentration by all was amazing. Well done class 12.

class 12- hooking into physics

The children took very well to the challenge of getting the light bulb to light up with no real direction from me just the equipment they were given. Once completed they were able to share that more batteries would result in a brighter bulb and two bulbs to one battery would produce a dimmer glow.

class 12 – hook week

I am so proud of my wonderful class on their return to school. Our hook week was so lovely! They worked really hard on everything they were asked to do and did everything with craftsmanship and quality. They have produced some really lovely items to help immerse their environment and have shown wonderful engagement and curiosity! Excited for the term ahead with these lovely lot!

Class 12: Odd socks day!

It was really lovely to see the children supporting anti bullying today with their crazy socks! It is no strange occurrence in our class however that I wear odd socks quite often, to which the children will ask me if they are odd that day or not. I did today make more of an effort to make my socks very obviously odd and I was thrilled that my class and crew joined me in doing so too! We loved discussing our odd sock choices and I loved that for some it meant they could start to show their excitement for Christmas a wear something festive too! Thank you all for joining in!

Class 12: digital art work

Not bad at all for a first draft today they have smashed it out of the park and some have already told me what they want to do differently next time to improve for their second draft, so proud of your efforts guys.

Here are just a handful of examples of such beautiful work and craftsmanship.

Year 3/4 – Singing Homework

This week, Year 3 and 4 have been learning and studying the WW1 marching song – It’s a Long Way to Tipperary! We will be singing this at our Celebration of Learning / Christmas production so it would be really great if everybody could have a practise over half-term.

Thank you for your continued support, The LKS2 Team.

Class 12 – Vocabulary in reading

Another really lovely reading session today. Selecting a range of new words from the new sections of our class text. Today’s leaning had a shared responsibility. Each table group had to use dictionaries to find definitions of two words they picked at random. Then they needed to write the definition and the word used in an example sentence ready to share with the full class at the end. We the collated our learning at the end for a shared learning experience, you can see it captured half way through (but I forgot the final picture!!) Smashed it guys, great work all.
