Thank you to all the adults that joined us this morning for Family Learning. The children were amazing at showing the adults the grid method that we have been using to support us with our artwork. The children will be continue to draft and improve their artwork in our expedition lessons as we work towards creating our final drafts of Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks and Emmeline Pankhurst, which will form part of the Y5/6 product.
A final reminder and chance for parents to sign up to the e-Safety orienteering session tomorrow afternoon. Parents are welcome to collect their children from the school hall at 14:00 on Tuesday afternoon before going out and doing some orienteering with them linked to safer internet use and awareness of various social media apps. The activity will be a light-hearted quiz that everyone can get involved in. Sign up below.
Well done to our Year 5/6 Crew champions for this week! Lots of awards for craftsmanship and quality, respect and courage!
We had a lovely art lesson this morning looking at the different artists of the Little People Big Dreams books before completing our first draft of our chosen person. The children chose either Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King or Emmeline Pankhurst to draw in the style of the Little People Big Dreams, and the sketches will be used in the final product!
Well done to Matilda who has brought in her dancing medals to show the rest of the class. It looks like you have been very busy recently! Keep up the good work!
What a lovely end to our Monday afternoon listening to lots of lovely shoutouts and praises for our very worthy winners!
This week, Arnie has been learning about the human eye. He has drawn a picture and then added some interesting facts around the side. Well done Arnie, I love the enthusiasm.
This morning, Robyn and Charlotte represented Crew Council and took part in the Breaking the ground ceremony with children from other local primary schools. Today marks the beginning of the construction work to build the new play area – we can’t wait to go and visit as the building takes place!
We enjoyed our number day and capped it off with great confidence with counting money in pence! 🙂
