More visitors for Year 3!

As part of Aspirations Week, Year 3 have had some more visitors helping us to think about what we would like to be when we are older. We had Victoria from a local dance school, showing off the dances from her groups and the amazing trophies they have won. Then we had Geoff who was instantly recognised as the ’drone man’, visiting from XP. He explained how he loves to work with the schools within the Trust and share the stories from our beautiful work!

Thanks for coming in and answering our questions! 😆

Class 13 – Money Matters 💷

As part of aspirations week, we have been looking at money and the importance of making sensible decisions when it comes to looking after it. We spoke about some of the risks that are associated with money and what we can do to prevent them. We finally played an investment-based game where the children had to balance risk and reward when came to investing their money. Some of the children managed to make a good profit whilst others found out the hard way how easy it can be to lose money when the wrong choices are made.

Class 13 – Measurements 📏

In maths this week, we have been looking at different units of metric measurements. We looked at how to convert between millimetres, centimetres and metres before measuring some of the the different items in the classroom.

Class 11 Presentation of Learning! 🔋🌱🦷

This afternoon, Class 11 were the teachers for the adults that came to see the Presentation of Learning for the Spring Expedition. The Class took on the duty of sharing their knowledge, teaching the adults and explaining their learning about circuits, plants, digestion and Scratch food chains.

I was really impressed by the level of explanation from our mini-teachers and I’m sure adults will agree that they did a super job. The pressure was really on though for the Kahoot Quiz. The children’s teaching went towards the Quiz and was based on what they taught the adults.

I’m sure that adults will agree that Class 11 did a fantastic job of teaching and helped impart some knowledge. Check out below the teachers in action!

We appreciate you turning up to our Presentation of Learning and hope you had a great time! 😆

Class 11 dream jobs! 💭🤔

In our Crew session today, Class 11 thought carefully about their future. They class thought about what their dream job was, what skills they needed and what would make them good at that. We saw a range of jobs, including maths teacher, singer and plenty wanted to be footballers.

Y6 Aspirations Week

This morning Year 6 had a visit from Greg, a quantity surveyor. He told them all about the work he does and the skills he needs. Over the years, Greg has set up his own businesses; he got the children to think about what they enjoy and how this could be turned into a business idea. There were some fantastic ideas and we definitely have some budding entrepreneurs!
