This week is National Skipping week and as a school we will be taking part to see how many jumps we can do. Each day, the children will get the opportunity to take part and count how many jumps they can do and we will create a school total each day. Watch this video to find out more.
School council will be getting involved to see who can skip or jump in the most unusual places. All you need to do to get involved is take a picture or video of you jumping or skipping somewhere unusual and send it into school. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd May. Winners will be announced on Friday 5th May.
Happy skipping!
I was so impressed with the beautiful artwork that the children are creating in GBlock with Mrs Green! They were recreating ‘The Great Wave of Kanagawa’ using watercolour in different shades and the effect was beautiful!
Here they are again hard at work! This time using an Atlas and a newly developed set skills in using landscape maps of the 7 continents to identify mountains and their sizes, as well as locating mountain ranges!
I was amazed at how well the children worked on these to create their scrap tornadoes in pairs. At first, I thought I’d maybe bitten off more than I could chew on a Friday afternoon but they absolutely smashed it! These scrap tornadoes are made from literally scrap pieces of paper from our scrap paper drawer and some old leaflets and a newspaper I had at home. Layering up strips of dark colours that they could find in the shape of a tornado. We then had a discussion about a range of adjectives we could use to describe a tornado and they used these words to create a short and simple poem within their art work! Here are some snaps of them working away! I’m just upset I forgot to take pictures of their final ones to show them off, but stayed tuned they will definitely be making an appearance next week!
These are so beautiful, the children worked really hard and showed lots of pride to produce these lovely pieces of art to further immerse their classroom. Tasked with using a range of medias to create a tsunami wave.
The children have worked so well on locating rivers within the UK! They started by looking at a map of thier local area and identifying rivers and canals as waterways. They then were able to use search technologies and other maps to identify other rivers within the UK and place them on their own blank maps! Awesome job guys as per usual!
Class 11 have been working really hard to create some waves for our classroom displays, this morning with Miss O’Neill. I am so pleased with the amount of fun the children had and how immersed our classroom has become now, due to their beautiful work!
