EL #BetterWorldDay 2023!

It’s @ELeducation‘s #BetterWorldDay! Here’s a beautiful example of how the community at Plover School are stepping up and doing their bit to make the world a better place with their Plover Pantry food bank.

Year 7 students at XP Gateshead carried out a day of fundraising! Working together in Crews, our students carried 5 litre bottles of water around as many laps of the 400m track as they could…

Be sure to follow #BetterWorldDay on Twitter to see schools around the world sharing their stories!

Class 13 – Volcanoes 🌋

In expedition this week, we have been looking at the structure of volcanoes and what it is that causes them to erupt. We also spent time locating some of the largest, most active volcanoes in the world and placing them onto a map. We noticed that many of the world’s volcanoes can be found on the edges of the tectonic plates that make up the Earth’s crust.

Class 7. A Right Royal Tea Party.

What a fabulous afternoon we had in class 7 today at our royal tea party family learning event. Our wonderful parents and carers turned out in force to help the children make crowns and to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate our King’s coronation. Take a look at the gallery below to see what fun we had.

As always, a huge thank you to you all for supporting the event. The children adore sharing their learning with you.

Don’t forget we will also be celebrating in school tomorrow and you are welcome to send your children in wearing red, white and blue.

Have an amazing bank holiday weekend!

God save the King!

Class 9 Royal family learning

We have had such a fantastic afternoon during our family learning session. The children have created fantastic crowns that they are going to wear for our school celebrations tomorrow to celebrate the coronation. Thank you so much to our parents and carers who came in and helped their children, as well as other children. They have enjoyed it so much!

Don’t forget to send your children in red, white and blue clothes tomorrow (Friday 5th May) for our whole school celebrations.

Thanks again and have a lovely bank holiday weekend with your family and friends

Bingo tickets are still available

There are still some tickets available for the ‘Family Bingo Night’ fundraiser on Thursday 18th May. It would be great if you could join us.

Entrance tickets cost 50p per person – a ticket must be purchased for each person attending the event.  Admission is by ticket only.

If you would still like to purchase tickets, please send money in an envelope clearly labelled with your child’s name, class and the number of tickets required.  The Year 6 children are working hard to collect and allocate tickets each morning.

Choir Club – Coronation Celebrations

Tomorrow during Choir, we are going to film a song linking to King Charles III’s Coronation on Saturday.

It would be great if children could bring something to wear that is red/white or blue or linked to the Coronation for the video please. If you have any Union Jack flags or hats these are welcome too.

Here is the video to the song that we have been learning if you would like to practice at home.
