To all our wonderful singers joining us for Young Voices, here is a PDF copy of the song lyrics so you can sing along at home. This can also be downloaded onto devices.
The music can also be found on Spotify. A log in may be required however this is free of charge and playlists will work using an email address. All you need to do is type Young Voices 2024 into the search bar and the whole play list will appear.
Happy singing!

Last night we held a wonderful art gallery to celebrate our expeditionary learning. The children’s artwork looked amazing displayed in frames they had made and decorated themselves. It was fantastic to see so many members of our families join us in the hall last night to share in the children’s learning journey. There were many proud faces – both children and adult – along with lots of words of praise for the children’s achievements. Thank you for the donations made; we will be giving this to the World Wildlife Fund to support endangered animals.
Check out the link to see photos from the night.
Well done to each of our winners this week! Some fantastic stories on how well you have all been doing!
We are really looking forward to welcoming you to our Christmas Bingo Night on Thursday and have lots of tasty treats waiting to be won. There are a small number of tickets available if you haven’t managed to get one yet and would still like to come along and join in the fun.
Doors open 5:30pm Eyes down 6pm
The cards for each game will be on sale on the night and there will be 6 different coloured games during the evening with lots of Christmas chocolate themed prizes. Bingo cards will cost 20p each or cost £1 for a coloured strip for 6 cards. You can even take advantage of our offer of 6 coloured strips for £5! Of course, you can play as many cards as you can manage in each game.
Will you be brave enough to play a full strip or even more than one? If you have young children attending then you may decide to split a strip into individual cards so they can enjoy playing too.
Refreshments will be on sale before and in between games. We will also be holding a raffle for 50p a ticket and have a range of great prizes to be won. It would be much appreciated if you could bring change on the night to make it easier when purchasing bingo strips, raffle tickets and refreshments.
Over the last couple of weeks the children have been working on sketching Roman soldiers, they have all worked really hard and I’m so proud of them. Here are a few examples of their work.
Wow wow wow! What an amazing morning we’ve had with Chloe and Charlie from STAG-ED who came to perform the pantomime Cinderella. We had so much fun, laughter and songs. The children absolutely loved it. What a treat for a drizzly Monday morning!
The cast even sang our birthday girl, Isabella ‘Happy birthday’.
A huge thank you to the Green Top Friends committee who paid for us to have this wonderfully festive treat.
We had a lovely end to our school week today when we decorated our beautiful tree and listened to Christmas music during Funky Friday Time.
I would just like to give a massive shout out to our Year 3 and 4 pupils who represented Green Top in our Trust dodgeball tournament! What a super set of performances you put in! There were some really really tight games and I think it is fair to say that fun was had by all.
Most importantly, the children represented the school and themselves really well. Thank you to the adults who took our players to the tournament – it is really appreciated!
This very special event has brought together nominees from across Green Top’s local community who have been recognised for their invaluable work both with and for the people of Thorne. From food banks to emergency services to care homes – all were presented awards by KS1 children at Green Top, as part of their Expedition ‘Not all superheroes wear capes’. The list and variety of work celebrated this evening was incredible and each and every award was so well deserved. Congratulations to all of you from Green Top!
