Class 10 – World Book Day Excitement!

Class 10 have blown me away with their fabulous costumes for World Book Day – well done to everybody involved. We celebrated this morning with a book-themed draw-along session as well as time spent just enjoying reading for pleasure. Today, was also Eli’s birthday so we were all serenaded with a top class performance by our own Taylor Swift (Ava D) using her very snazzy mic with a funny VoiceOver to ensure giggles all round to end the day 🙂

Reception Phonics

This week in Phonics we have been covering the following sound. The sounds will be sent out for the children to be practising to recognise the digraph, say the digraph and then write the grapheme.

The children are really starting to learn and retain those sounds but will need support to blend those sounds together. Have a go at the green words and the more they hear those sounds being blended the easier it will become. There is a sentence to read on the bottom of the sheet also. Reading this and also reading the reading books that the children now have will all help to increase and improve the children’s fluency in their reading.

Thanks

Mrs Wallace and Mrs Jones.

Reception Presentation of Learning.

We would like to invite you to our Presentation of Learning for our Spring Expedition See how things grow: How do things grow and change?

The children will present what we have learned throughout the expedition and we will share our final product and our learning journey.

The POL will take place in the hall on Wednesday 19th March 2025 from 2pm. Please come to the Ash tree road entrance and the gates will be open from 1.55 pm.

We hope to see you there.

World Book Day 2025

A huge thank you to everyone who made the effort to come dressed in a costume today be it home made or shop bought. The children in Nursery have had a brilliant day learning about lots of different stories.
