Thank you to everyone who joined us for our presentation of learning today and to share a teddy bears picnic with us. We hope you had a lovely morning.
The Nursery Team X

WOW! We have has a beautiful day celebrating and remembering. Firstly this morning we watched videos on what Remembrance Day is and why we wear poppies. The children were so engaged and loved learning about this and many children we able to talk about this in their play.
The children spent the day creating and making poppies in many different ways such as with paint, collage, play dough, drawing, threading and finger painting.
I wonder if your child can talk about Remembrance Day and the significance of a poppy at home?

The nursery children loved following instructions to make and then eat their own edible sparklers using bread sticks, chocolate and sprinkles. They were yummy and very fun to make.

50p per book for sale tomorrow morning when you bring your child to school and during our teddy bear’s picnic at 10.15am.
Money raised will be towards nursery resources.

The Nursery Team
Firework crafts underway here in Nursery. Lots of wonderful conversations about colour, sparkles, dark and light and onomatopoeia words such as ‘bang, pop, fix, shoot’. The children have also been looking like scientists and sketching like artists when creating observational drawings of the pumpkins.

Today we have enjoyed listening to songs and dancing with scarves and imagining we are shooting up to the sky like fireworks! I think you can tell from the children’s faces how much they enjoyed this gross motor and expressive arts activity. Some children chose to also play instruments to make ‘bang’ sounds just like a firework.

This week we are talking about fire safety and enjoying dressing up, role playing fire fighters and painting bonfires. We have been learning about Guy Fawkes and the British celebration of Bonfire Night and the meaning behind it.

Dear all Parents & Carers,
A reminder to all that you MUST apply via the Doncaster Council Website (see below) for your child’s school Reception place. Children in Nursery DO NOT automatically receive a place in Reception if they already attend Green Top Nursery.
