This week Alfie, Amelia and Andrew have shown how to be great role models. They got lots of shout outs from their peers in our assembly and I have seen great kindness, hard work and progress from all 3 so well done!
Big shout out to Carter too for gaining the most HOWL points in our crew this week!
We are so excited to finally invite parents to see the fantastic video that our children made during the Autumn term. The expedition was called ‘ What will I do to be a superhero in my community?’ and we believe that this video showcases all of their hard work throughout the term.
We would like to invite all parents and carers to XP East for our film premiere on Tuesday 17th May 2022. It will begin at 5pm and last for approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
We would love if the children could come in their best party clothes, just like the movie stars do at a film premiere. There will be refreshments available.
Please let teachers know how many people from your family will be attending. It would be great to see as many faces as possible at the event to really celebrate the children’s learning!
Please complete the following form by clicking on the link below so that we know how many people will be attending. Alternatively, please speak to your class teacher to let them know who will be coming from your family.
Please check your emails for details of our next trip in key stage 1 which will be happening in May. We are really excited to visit the museum and learn about how lives have changed over the years, as well as showing the children a city to compare to our town as we drive through!
Well done Nathaniel, Carter and Cara. They shared their work from the Spring expedition with Andy Sprakes today, an executive of the XP Trust, and he was so impressed with the standard that he saw. He sent them a postcard to celebrate their progress and we are all very proud! Keep up the great work! X
Class 8 worked really hard this morning to innovate our class text. They have worked collaboratively to improve it and have practiced retelling their stories using symbols and actions. They did so well and I can’t wait to see the writing that comes from this work!
The children enjoyed being hooked into our new expedition by trying to match photographs of adults in school to their baby photos. They were being historians by looking for clues and reasons for why they matched certain photographs. What great fun!
I just wanted to share some of the fantastic drone aerial photographs that were taken today. Some of the children could even spot their house! We thought they were fascinating to look at so we thought parents might like to look at them too…enjoy!
as they had a drone expert in to show them how we can take aerial photographs and get a birds eye view of everything on the ground.
They loved watching it take off and fly over the school but they especially loved seeing the photographs afterwards which showed a lot of Thorne and areas surrounding the school.
what a fantastic experience!
Thanks so much to Geoff for coming in and doing this for us…the children appreciate it so much as we will use these photos in our Summer expedition!
