Class 9 have been busy this week completing assessments with me but while theyve been in class they have practicing their sketching skills with Mrs Miller. They have had a go at drawing a portrait of King Charles III. They made 2 drafts, which they critiqued, before adding the final details to their third drafts. They then looked at the lines on his face, as well as the dark and light shading.
I think they look amazing…I am so impressed! Well done class 9

Year 1 and 2 have put their amazing castle that they created using their new design and technology skills, into our local community. It has pride of place at the entrance to Thorne library and some children will be going next week to take a photograph for their product launch!

These beautiful children are the proud winners of a recent local community competition that we entered as a school. They drew and created some amazing royal artwork of King Charles and all placed as winners within their age category. They were so pleased with their winning prize chocolate hampers! I hope these guys enjoy them and continue with their artistic flare throughout school!

The children were working on time this week. They not only made their own clocks but they also recapped their learning on o clock, half past and quarter to. Some children excelled in knowing their 5 minute intervals too – keep up with your maths learning at home too guys. We were so impressed! Well done superstars x x

In maths club this week KS1 have been working on place value with tens and ones sheets, we also had Top Trump card games.
All children thoroughly enjoyed, we had some competitive boys and girls. 😁
Last week we had another round of amazing achievements in KS1. HOWL point winners who have been working hard, getting smart and being kind, stewardship shoutouts for people going above and beyond for their crew. Crew Shaw won the attendance too, Imogen is so proud to represent her crew!
Huge shoutout to Ruby, who has managed to hit 170 reads!! Don’t forget to write in your reading diary every single time you read to get those certificates.
Some wonderful hard work going on at home too, with celebrations for those children with the highest scores in both Numbots and TTRockstars. Remember to get playing!! If you need a reminder of your log in, just ask your class teacher!
Finally, a magnificent well done to our Out Of This World winners this week, as you can see the children are always SO proud of themselves and its fantastic to see. Keep up the hard work, KS1!
