DT food kind of day in class 8

We have had such an amazing day today related to our expedition. We have been practicing our DT skills, such as chopping, peeling and grating. The children got to eat tomatoes, bananas, cucumbers, peppers, carrots and apples.

We have also made pancakes today, using flour, eggs and milk!

The children should be full after our very food day!

KS1: Miss Schon’s Phonics Group

I have seen some beautiful reading this week. The children’s confidence is growing week on week and it is so lovely to see. The children are also becoming much more confident with their sentence writing. Now we are working to secure our spelling skills. Keep it up – I am so proud of you.

In addition to this the children have also been doing some extra phonics lessons in the afternoons. This week and next week we will be learning the split digraph sounds like Miss Rodger’s and Mrs Clay’s group. So far we have learned /a-e/, /e-e/ and /i-e/. I wonder if you can read words for the sheets below?

Class 8 dictionary work

The children were practising their dictionary skills today. We read our new expedition book ‘Zombies don’t eat veggies’ and we used the dictionaries to find the definition of some new vocabulary. They did great, I was very impressed!
