Class 8’s hook week

What a fantastic first week back!

Not only was it amazing to see the children back all looking so happy this week but doing their SLCs has been an absolute pleasure. Thank you to everyone who has attended.

Here is a brief summary of some of the activities we have done this week to help us with our new expedition this term: Ready, steady, grow: How can I be the healthiest version of me?

Key stage 1 reading books *Please read*

Reading book google form

I know that many parents are aware that we are changing how we are supporting children with their reading, moving forward. Please read the attached letter and complete the google form above.

As soon as a parent has signed the google form to say that they agree, your child will come home with their set of reading books, which will be changed on a Friday from now on.

In the meantime, please don’t worry that you don’t have school books over the weekend because any books that you read will count towards your school reading challenge.

Thank you for your support with this change

Year 2 important information for Spring term

Year 1 and 2 XP Outdoors Starting.

We’re thrilled to announce that our XP Outdoor sessions will be starting again next week!

  • Year 2: Monday Afternoons
  • Year 1: Tuesday Afternoons

Please ensure your child brings appropriate outdoor clothing for activities. Includes a waterproof jacket, wellies, and warm layers, as we’ll be outdoors rain or shine!

If you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to ask.

We’re looking forward to another exciting term of XP outdoor!

Class 8 super art work

We have been busy this afternoon hooking the children into their new expedition. The guiding question is ‘How can I be the healthiest version of me?’. We will be looking at the different food groups and learning some new skills in our food design and technology lessons, such as cutting, grating and peeling.

Today they chose their own fruit or vegetable and their own medium for us to use on our display. I was really impressed with the effort today! Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Class 8 – Mrs Shaw – SLC appointment

Here are the rest of my free appointments for any parents who still need to book an SLC appointment with me. Your children have all been practising and are ready to share their time at school with you.

Please speak to Mrs Shaw to book your appointment. Thanks

Proud of class 8

This isn’t my normal first day back post as it links to maths, not the fun we had this afternoon but I really wanted to share this. Maths in fact was quite a hard lesson, which included exchanging a ten when subtracting but I was very proud of them all today and wanted to share it!

It was great to see everyone back at school today and hear all about your holidays.

We also had a new boy in our class today and the children reminded me of their kindness and compassion towards others with how they made him feel welcome and looked after him.

Can’t wait for tomorrow for more fun (and more hard maths 🙂 )

Year 2 party day!!!

What a day we have had!!! We made party hats, we sang christmas songs, we had a visit from Santa, we ate Christmas dinner, we played party games, we ate lots of party food and we had a visit from Elsa!!!

Honestly, I am tired out, so I’m sure the children will be too!

I have loved sharing today with your children, they have been smiling from start to finish!
