Year 2 – spelling homework

We had a bit of time before lunch today where the children got to choose a book of their choice and read to themselves or with friends before lunch. It was lovely to see them so engaged in their reading today. Keep it up class 8!
Thanks so much to Robyn and Etta for reading to Crew Shaw this afternoon – you could have heard a pin drop! Thank you girls!
Today we have been comparing numbers in maths and using the ‘less than’ and ‘greater than’ symbols to compare tens and ones. They showed some super understanding and used the dienes really well. Well done guys!
Mrs Shaw
As part of our reading week, Class 8 were lucky enough to have Mr Taylor come and read them a story.
How many of these children’s books can you work out from the emojis? Add your answers in the comments!
This week, as part of reading week, Year 2 visited the library and braved the weather to have a good read. We loved being able to draw on book trees, read with our friends and listen to a good story. Some of us even helped library staff by keeping shelves tidy and scanning books. We loved our trip to the library and can’t wait to go again!
Today we have been learning about ‘ what is religion?’ We have looked and discussed the 6 main religions around the world. We listened to the bible story of ‘Adam and Eve walk with God in the garden’. The children then made posters to consolidate learning.
class 8 have had a lovely session out on the 3G with coach Morgan, working on movement, teamwork and following instructions. They all loved it and learnt new skills.
A huge thankyou to coach Morgan for taking the time to come in and teach the children these different activities.
A huge well done to Sydney for his extra homework on castles linked to our expedition. I love how you have labelled it and the shading too! Great work!
