Fabulous family learning in class 7

A big thank you to all the adults who could join us today in our family learning celebration. We used recycled items and natural materials to make small structures ready to add to our KS1 Bug Hotel. Here is a selections of photographs for you to enjoy!

Key stage 1 family learning

Please keep this date in your diary… Monday 9th May 2022

In our next expedition we are looking in detail at Thorne, including the history of our school and community. We would like to invite family members to an informal coffee morning where you can have a drink and a bun while sharing your experiences of how Thorne and Green Top has changed over the years. If you have experience of living in a contrasting area too then it would be great for the children to be able to compare. Even better, if you have old photographs to share then we would love to see them.

Thank you

Weekly Round-Up – w.c. 21st March

It’s been a busy week in Class 7 this week, not only have the children been working hard in their assessments but they have also been enjoying lots of fun outdoors enjoying the lovely weather we have seen this week.

Here are a few photos from XP Outdoors with Mr Kershaw and some pictures of the children hard at work during playtime to build a ladybug hotel at the PBJ (Peanut-Butter-Jelly) Factory which is being operated under the careful leadership of Rowan. Class 7 have reported that Rowan is a tough leader who is a little bossy at times, however they enjoy working for him because it is fun!

Fire Safety Talk

On Tuesday, we had an important visitor. They told us lots of things about how to be safe. One thing that we need to remember is STOP, DROP AND ROLL. We also learnt that you should test your smoke detector every week. I wonder if anyone can test theirs this week.

Year 3/4 Phase Meeting

Well done to everyone on being our HoWL point winners this week. As always, it’s wonderful to hear all of the lovely shout outs about our wonderful year 3 and 4 crews.

Next week will be our last meeting of the term and we can’t wait to celebrate our attendance winners, accelerated reader winners and overall HoWL point winners. Watch this space!
