What a year it has been! As we reflected on our year today, we have been reminded of all the fantastic things we have achieved this year. From a space lecture to a picnic in the park it has been fantastic to make so many memories and be able to share them with you. I am so proud of each and every one of you and the progress you have made, not only in your learning, but also in how much you have matured this year. I know you will all be amazing as you move into year 6!! Thank you for a fantastic year.

New to year 5 transition days
We have had a fantastic 2 days in our new class and I have been really impressed with everything you have done. I cannot wait until next year to see what a fantastic crew we will be. Well done guys – you should all be really proud of yourselves!
Year 5 Graduation Day
We had a fabulous graduation day in year 5 celebrating graduation day. It was great to reflect on our pledges from the start of the year and see how far we have come. We also thought about what we could work on next year as we move into year 6.

Here is our year 5 graduation video.
Year 5 Beautiful Work
There has been some fantastic collaboration in my new crew this week to create these brilliant non-chronological reports as part of our transition work. Each group selected a different period of history to research before presenting their work in their own way. Check out the amazing results.

School Council End of Year Celebration
We had a great time for our last School Council meeting of the year. It was lovely to see all the children reflecting on what they have enjoyed this year before we celebrated all our hard work with some party games. Thank you for all your hard work this year! You have all been amazing and should be super proud of yourselves.
Roots of Empathy Celebration
Last week, Year 5 enjoyed our final Roots of Empathy session with Miss Smith and Baby Chad. All the children enjoyed asking lots of questions about Chad’s development and enjoyed playing with the toys and eating lots of party food!
Thank you so much to Mrs Dewsnap for organising such a lovely afternoon and for the sessions each week that we have enjoyed taking part in. An extra special thank you to Miss Smith and Baby Chad too for giving up their time to visit us throughout the year. We all really appreciate it!

Science Club testing centripetal force
We had a great time enjoying the sun this week while working out how to tip the buckets upside down without the water coming out. It wasn’t long until we worked it out! I wonder if you can test it at home?

A busy week in year 5
We have been spending this week completing loads of crew building activities to build relationships ready for year 6. It has been great to see my crew joining in with all the activities and seeing how well they can already work as a crew. It’s been a lovely week!
KS2 Sports Day
Don’t forget KS2 sports day will take place on Monday 10th July. The children will be out on the KS2 field from 9am and we will start the races soon after!
Please send your child in their PE kits on sports day along with a water bottle. If the weather is hot, the children may need sun hats and sun cream.
We look forward to seeing you there!
