Sculpture club

Just want to say a big thank you to sculpture club. They were fab at listening and learning about the different paper sculpture techniques this week! Check out what they have done below. A few more techniques to show them next week, but they have been set a challenge to think about what they’d like to start to make. Ensuring they apply some of these techniques to create something 3D!

Year 3 – PE and XP Outdoors

Year 3 will have PE on Mondays and XP Outdoors on Wednesdays. Please ensure your child has appropriate footwear and kit for these activities. If needed, children can keep a bag with their kit in on their pegs for the week but this must be taken home on Fridays each week.

Thank you, Mrs Dutton and Mr Taylor

Class 10 – Evacuees

We’ve had a brill start to our expedition hook week today by learning all about evacuees and their experiences in WW2. We made wooden peg fighter planes and cardboard gas mask boxes before taking a trip as a evacuees to a local church where we wrote letters home and thought about the things we would take with us in a real evacuation.

A big shout out to those children who were able to dress up – you all looked amazing!

Year 3/4 | Evacuation Day!

This morning, the children were getting crafty by creating World War 2 planes out of clothes pegs.

We then learnt about evacuation during the Second World War, and looked at how children would each have their own gas mask to take with them. This led to us making our very own gas mask boxes!

In the afternoon, we were lucky enough to visit Thorne Methodist Church. We imagined ourselves as evacuees and wrote letters home to our parents!

Y3/Class 10 – What a Finish!

Wow – what a way to end our first week back! This morning, we spent some crew time outdoors completing team building games before looking, once more, at our Green Top Character Traits. Today’s story was The Selfish Giant which had us all thinking carefully about the trait of compassion.

Of course, the highlight of our day has to be this afternoon’s colour run which was amazing and I am so proud of how brave the children were – great job guys! A huge thank you to those of you who have managed to bring sponsorship money in for this as funds raised will be going towards our future reading library. A special mention to George for raising a whopping £85 and to Beatrice for a very mighty £55!

It’s been a gorgeous week with my lovely new class so a huge shout out to all the boys and girls for being such little superstars – I can’t wait to do Year 3 with you all! Best wishes for a well deserved weekend break, Mrs Dutton xx

Y3/4 – Homework Menu and Parent Overview Screenshots

It has been brought to our attention that there is currently an issue with parents accessing the links shared in our previous blog about the Homework Menu and Parent Overview for Autumn 24/25. We are looking into this and hope to have the matter resolved as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we will continue to grant access where requested when the links are clicked on but for now, please see screenshots below for the information being shared.

Thank you for your patience, LKS2 team x

Y3 / Class 10 – FWB Day 3

Today has been another super day in Class 10. We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about our character traits and how we can each be the best crew members possible as well as thinking about how we can work best as a team. We’ve also spent some time thinking about how we can be crew outside of the classroom in our school and local communities, and as part of this we enjoyed some time outdoors litter picking on the Key Stage 2 playground.

Well done everybody, another fabulous day!
