Year 4 had great fun in GBlock today turning dolly pegs into Roman soldiers! They were so careful and patient and created some fantastic, fearful looking soldiers!
Well done to Layla who has immersed herself within our expedition by creating a Roman-style building out of Lego! It looks fantastic!
Tomorrow (Wednesday 6th September) is National Read a Book Day!
Why not enjoy a book together after school to celebrate the day? We’d love for you to email us any photos of you enjoying your reading!
We are so proud to celebrate some of our Year 4 girls who are part of the Club Thorne Under 9s girls team and are the first all girls team to represent Thorne! They start their first league this Saturday and we couldn’t be more proud!
Good luck girls!
As part of Hook Week, Year 3 and 4 will be having a Roman sports day tomorrow afternoon as part of our Hook Week. Please, can children come in their uniform but bring PE kits in a bag ready to change into later in the afternoon for the Gladiator Games.
Thanks! 🙂
Year 4 PE will take place on Monday afternoons. This term’s PE sessions will be outdoors so please make sure your child has the correct and appropriate kit.
Thank you
What a lovely, sunny afternoon it was for some outdoor team building games with water! The children had to work together as a team to transport water from one place to another using a number of different items, with some being trickier than others. It’s fair to say that the children absolutely loved it with most of them getting drenched in the process!
This afternoon, the children were lucky enough to have Mr Kershaw teach them how to make a catapult! It wasn’t an easy task but the children gave it their best efforts.
Our first family learning of the year is on Thursday 7th September at 1.45pm. Come along to help your child make their sword and helmet ready for our great Roman battle on the Friday!
Your child will need cardboard for the activity so we would be grateful if you could dig out any old boxes / pieces of cardboard that you can find!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
