Y4 Football success!

A huge congratulations to our amazing Year 4 footballers who took part in the Snaith Cluster Schools Football Tournament this week!

We were proud to have two Green Top teams representing our school — and both teams gave it their absolute all. Their hard work, teamwork, and determination really paid off, as both Green Top 1 and Green Top 2 reached the finals in their respective groups.

Green Top 1 showed incredible resilience and skill, battling through to a nail-biting final that ended in a penalty shootout. The team held their nerve and came out victorious — well done on your win!

Green Top 2 also put in a fantastic performance, narrowly missing out on the top spot in a very close final. Your efforts, attitude, and sportsmanship were outstanding, and you should be very proud of yourselves.

It was a brilliant evening full of energy, excitement, and positive spirit. A great time was had by all, and the experience was one to remember for every player involved. Thank you to everyone who supported and cheered the teams on — and a special thank you to Mr Overson for supporting this event and making it possible.

Well done, Green Top Year 4 — you did us proud!

KS2 Sports Day

Just a reminder to parents and carers about our KS2 sports day. Sports day will be on Tuesday 10th June on the KS2 field. Gates will be open from 12:50. Please enter through the main entrance on Middlebrook Lane. We are hoping to start at 1pm and finish before the end of the school day. There will also be refreshments on sale.

Children can come to school in their PE kits on Tuesday. Please make sure that all children wear trainers.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday afternoon!

Dance session

We’ve had a great session with our dance expert this afternoon! Everyone gave their full effort and tried their best!

Y3/4 Quick Cricket in the sun!

A few bats, a tennis ball, and some makeshift stumps are all we need. It’s easy to set up, and even easier to get people involved.

Most days, as soon as the break starts, we head outside and get a game going. The format is really casual—just a few overs each, fast-paced, and relaxed. No pressure, just pick up a bat or ball and join in.

It’s been a great way to spend time in the sun, get some fresh air, and take a real break. There’s plenty of laughing, the occasional big hit, and some very enthusiastic fielding.

What’s nice is how inclusive it is. You don’t have to be good at cricket to enjoy it. Everyone gets a go, and no one takes it too seriously.Playing quick cricket at lunch has turned into something we all look forward to. It’s a simple way to break up the day, get moving, and enjoy a bit of sunshine and good company.
