Dress up day and Family learning – KS1!

This Friday (6.9.24), it is our dress up day to hook the children into their Expedition. They are welcome to come as anything medieval! They could be kings, queens, dragons or jesters – whatever links to castles, but please don’t worry about buying a costume!

On Tuesday 15th October it is the Family learning for Year 1. This will begin at 1.30 in the afternoon.

For Year 2, your family learning is on Thursday 17th October. This will again be at 1.30 in the afternoon.

We look forward to seeing you all and the amazing costumes!

Class 7 Colour Run!

Wow! What fun we had during the colour run. It was clear to see the enjoyment and I suspect it was our favourite part of this week!

Class 7 – Day 3!

Today started off with Crew games where we had to pass through the hula hoop – don’t worry, we aren’t in a tangle!

Then, we visited Casson Court to share cards and sing songs. We loved our time there and hope to return again. Thank you so much for the kind donations as well! Mrs Stone and I were both so proud of each and every single one of you!

Finally, we completed some litter picking around school to help make sure we make our school look its best! Thank you to Mrs Hardman and Mrs Green for helping us out!

Y1 and Y2 homework menus and parents overview.

Children should be able to access these menus at any time from the KS1 Extended Study section in the ‘Children’ drop down menu on the front page of the blog if they are logged on with their own Green Top email address.

Class 7s first two days!

Well, Class 7 have had two busy days back as they start their adventure into Year 2. We have been designing key rings and then making them!

Today, we have had fun in Mr Kershaw’s camp. We started reading in the tents, then roasted marshmallows by the fire and finished off by making some dream catchers!

We then started making some cards for our visit out tomorrow!

KS1 Dress Up Day

To hook our children into our new expedition we will be having a Medieval dress up day Friday 6th September. We invite children to dress up for a special day of medieval fun! If your child does not have an outfit please do not worry! They can wear their own party clothes and we will ensure they make some accessories to compliment their outfit (crowns fit for a king/queen/prince/princess etc).

We can’t wait to see you all dressed up!

Class 10 melting experiment!

Yesterday, Class 10 learned about the different states of matter and the properties that make them up: solids, liquids and gases!

Today, we looked at whether a solid could turn into a liquid and this involved chocolate buttons. We predicted that the chocolate would melt, meaning it would change from a solid to a liquid, so we held the chocolate in the palm of our hands.

Then we observed what had happened…

We were correct, so as a treat, we finished off the melted chocolate!

Class 10 brownie delivery service!

Class 10 had another day in the community spreading joy and happiness to others. We had the pleasure of taking brownies to the local Casino Court. It was such a lovely sight seeing the children explain their learning, share their delicious treats and put a smile on the faces in the Centre. We appreciate the kindness we received back and also the drinks provided! We hope you enjoyed it as much as you did!
