Y5 – Dieticians

Yesterday in expedition Y5 looked at the major food groups and researched why they are important for a balanced diet and the impact food has on our health. The children worked collaboratively to produce a range of anchor diets about the major food groups. Well done Crew Ambler & Crew Mumby.

My little rockstars!🥁🎤🎸

Year 5 were awesome at identifying and moving to the pulse of a rock song, imitating playing the guitar and drums.

The children were amazing as they tapped out the pulse of Livin’ On A Prayer as the class performed the song. 🥁

They also imitated playing the guitar and rocked in time to the music. 🎸

Jon Bon Jovi eat your heart out! 🎤🎶🎤🎶🎤🎶🎤

Y5/6 Community Crew Celebrations

We had a lovely community crew today celebrating lots of successes! We heard some great shoutouts and appreciations for each other and learnt who was winning the Accelerated Reader competition!

Check out some of our Star Reader’s here:

We also had lots of HoWLs point winners for the children who have worked hard, being kind and got smart this week!

Finally, we celebrated our new ‘Out of this World’ children who will receive the yellow tshirt to wear this week! Congratulations to all the winners – it is thoroughly deserved!

We Will Rock You

Year 5 were singing stars today performing the Bon Jovi classic Livin’ On A Prayer.
They then listened to the rock anthem We Will Rock You by Queen and each class agreed that the hook of the song was the famous ‘clap, clap, stomp’ rhythm. They identified the similarities and differences between the two songs and then blew me away as they recorded the various musical elements, including the pulse, rhythm and texture of both songs.
Well done my super rockstars!
