Key stage 1 parent overview

We’re thrilled to announce that our XP Outdoor sessions will be starting again next week!
Please ensure your child brings appropriate outdoor clothing for activities. Includes a waterproof jacket, wellies, and warm layers, as we’ll be outdoors rain or shine!
If you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to ask.
We’re looking forward to another exciting term of XP outdoor!
In year 1 we have been learning /oy/ boy with a toy.
We have also been showing off our phonics knowledge whilst completing our phonics assessments.
What a fantastic way to start our two Christmas weeks at school. We had so much fun…oh yes we did! There was lots of laughter, singing, screaming and fun had by everyone. Thank you to friends of Green top again for supporting us financially to make this opportunity happen.
A letter was sent home with children last week for parents to request tickets for our KS1 Nativity Performance. If your child’s letter has been misplaced and has not made it home then please ask a member of staff for a letter. For safety reasons all people attending the Nativity must have ordered a ticket in advance.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our performance.
As requested in our previous letter please can all Nativity costumes be sent into school tomorrow. All costumes will need to be in a bag and clearly labelled with your child’s name. You may also want to write the contents of the bag too so we can check none of your child’s items are misplaced.
Thank you,
KS1 Staff
We hope you are looking forward to our performance tomorrow afternoon. Just a little reminder that our product for this term will be available to buy at the event. The children have worked really hard to produce this impressive notebook, crammed full of all the things they have learned in our ‘Rags to Riches’ expedition as well as lots of photographs of the exciting sessions they have participated in and space for them to practise their spellings or maths work. The books will be priced at just £4 each and would make excellent stocking fillers but don’t delay if you want to buy one as we only have a limited number.
This week spelling swill be tested on Thursday due to our training day on Friday.
On Friday we sent out letters to inform you of the costume your child will need for the Christmas performance. Please don’t think you have to spend lots on a ready made outfit. We have lots of ideas for making a costume at a fraction of the cost. Please let us know if you need any support with this.
We also sent out some words to practise for some children for our celebration of learning next Thursday afternoon (28.11.24). The children do not need to learn the words by heart, but we would be grateful if you could help them to read the sentences fluently and clearly.
As always, many thanks for your continued support.
