Key stage 1 sports day

Just a reminder to parents and carers about Year 1 and 2 Sports Day. It is happening this week on Thursday 5th June. We are hoping to start at 1pm and we will be finished before the end of the school day. We will see you on the Key stage 2 school field.

Children can come to school in their PE kits on this day only. Please make sure that all children wear trainers.

Thanks, see you all on Thursday afternoon!

Reading Books in Y1

Just a reminder to send in ALL your child’s school reading books tomorrow to ensure they have them changed for the half term holidays. This is especially important this week as the children will not be having their daily phonics and shared reading sessions in school.

Many thanks

Miss Rodgers and Miss Schon

Pyjamarama Day in Class 6

The children took some time out of their busy learning schedule today to catch 40 winks while celebrating Pyjamarama day in class 6. It isn’t often we catch them being still though and they were soon back to burning off their energy!

Great turn out class 6. Well done!

Amazing Experience in Class 6

Yesterday we were super excited to have a visit from a company called WonderDome. They brought along an inflatable space dome where we could observe the wonders of the Galaxy. We learned some new songs and were filled with the awe and wonder of space travel as we took a closer look at our solar system.

Amazing

Key stage 1 playtimes and lunchtimes

These photos have been taken this week and it is great to see the children enjoying themselves in the sunshine. We have music out, pencils and paper for drawing, skipping ropes and other sports equipment. It is such a beautiful place to be.

Thanks so much to Mrs Clay, Mrs Stone and Miss Cooper for really leading on this too for the children!

KS1: Wednesday

Tomorrow is going to be a very exciting day for the children in Key Stage 1.

Tomorrow we have a visitor in school. We will be visiting the Space Dome to find out all about space! The last time the Space Dome visited school the children absolutely loved it. It was lovely to see the awe and wonder on their faces! If you haven’t paid for the visitor yet please support us by paying £4 through your parent pay account to ensure we can continue to offer these experiences for the children.

Tomorrow all children in Key Stage 1 need to bring their PE kit and trainers to school as we will be practising our Sports Day events. This will replace Year 1 Thursday PE session so PE kits are needed on Wednesday only this week please.

Tomorrow is also the school disco. Children come to school in their uniform as normal but can bring some Disco clothes in their backpack. Children will change in their classes and will be taken to the hall by their teachers. Children can be collected form the normal home time doors at 3:45pm. Entry to the Disco is £2 but there will also be some sweets for sale for children who bring additional money.

Ice Pops! All children who have paid for ice pops today will receive their ice pop tomorrow. As we missed out today KS1 will be having ice pops on Wednesday AND Thursday.

As there is so much going on in school tomorrow if children could please bring any money for ice/pops disco in a bag/envelope with a written list of what the money is for we would greatly appreciate it e.g.

Child’s Name

Ice pop wed 50p

Ice pop thur 50p

Disco £2

Sweets £2

Stay Cool Class 6!

In keeping with our latest case study of astronauts and following our wonderful family learning event, I decided to give class 6 a treat for being so awesome last week by staying super quiet in the corridors while year 6 completed their SATs. We all enjoyed ROCKET ice-lollies in the quad on Friday afternoon.

Well done class 6!
