Y1 homework

Good evening everyone. Today we have sent home a pack of activities for your children to complete. The phonics sounds and spellings will be sent weekly as usual but we have also included an expedition linked sheet with activities that could be worked on over the next term. Any questions please ask myself or Miss Schon.

Enjoy!

National Skipping Week

This week is National Skipping week and as a school we will be taking part to see how many jumps we can do. Each day, the children will get the opportunity to take part and count how many jumps they can do and we will create a school total each day. Watch this video to find out more.

Want to take part at home?

School council will be getting involved to see who can skip or jump in the most unusual places. All you need to do to get involved is take a picture or video of you jumping or skipping somewhere unusual and send it into school. The deadline for entries is Tuesday 2nd May. Winners will be announced on Friday 5th May.

Happy skipping!

More immersion in class 7

We spent today incorporating feedback into another draft of our self portraits and continuing the immersion of our classroom by making split pin palace guards. Beau won our postcard today for his amazing attitude to learning. Keep up the good work superstars!

Sport photos! ⚽️🏉

Mr Ambler and myself are creating a PE display for school. In this display, we want to celebrate our sporting successes across school whether it is a tournament, PE clubs or outside teams.

Please pass them onto your teacher and we will add these as part of our celebration 😀

Thanks,

Mr Gerrard and Mr Ambler 😆

Fabulous first day in class 7

Class 7 had an amazing day finding out what they will be learning about in our new expedition – North, South, East, West. Where could your journey take you? We talked about journeys we had been on and began to create self portraits and improve them using kind, helpful and specific critique. Ava’s was particularly good and she received today’s postcard for her efforts. We spent the afternoon getting delightfully sticky making papier mache planets which we will finish and paint during the rest of hook week. Great job guys!

Year 1 Celebration of Learning

What an amazing way to end Spring term with our fantastic celebration to showcase all we have learned in our expedition. The children had great fun presenting their learning to their families and leading them in activities linked to keeping ourselves healthy. As always thank you all so much for your support. The turnout was awesome!
