Some of the Year 5/6 children continued to celebrate our learning expedition product by showcasing our information board to the Thorne Times and associates from Northern Rail!
This afternoon, Year 5 have enjoyed an afternoon of The Polar Express. We all wore our pyjamas and even had hot chocolate and biscuits as part of our hook into our Christmas text. (It’s a shame we didn’t manage to get a photograph of Mr Ambler in his crazy Pj’s).
Year 5/6 are excited to invite everyone to our product launch on Monday 16th December at 5pm. We will be unveiling a copy of our British Rail information board which will be displayed at Thorne Stations. The event will take place at Green Top School in the hall.
Please see the attached link for more information!

Well done Evan for some more fantastic home learning – you have been so committed to completing some brilliant pieces of home work this term! Your Harry Potter themed meal looks so yummy! I’m so proud of all your efforts. 100 hps!

Today we worked in groups to create a set of instructions to make a jam sandwich. Despite thinking it was straight forward we soon realised that our instructions needed to be specific and clear. We all still enjoyed a jam sandwich at the end!
This weekend Neve and Luella visited the York Railway Museum! The girls took lots of pictures they have shared with the class and learned lots of new facts linked to our theme. The girls enjoyed seeing the Mallard and the Rocket and especially enjoyed the Mallard experience. I’m glad you both had a fantastic time and I hope seeing the real Mallard has inspired your artwork even more!
Today as part of our hook lesson we worked in groups to follow instructions to create our own Polyjuice Potions! We discussed the importance of following the ingredients and method to make our potions successful.
