Collaborative maths

The children have worked in collaborative groups to answer fraction word problems. The children raced against the timer to see which groups can answer the questions the quickest and the group that answered the questions correctly first won 100hps. You were all Stickability Stans and I’m super proud!

Hockey 🏑

A great end to the week with some competitive hockey. Each team worked really hard and I was so impressed with how every single person got stuck in and tried their best! Mrs Green and Mrs Hardman would have been proud with the technique and skills!

Well done to those with full kits this week 50hps each! – a reminder that PE is every Friday so outdoor PE kits will be needed please.

Solving equivalent fractions

The children have been working really hard together to solve some equivalent fractions! I’m so proud of all of your Can-Do attitudes!

Shout out to Elizebeth for working on her pledge and already improving her times tables! 50 hps

What would your planet look like?

Today we researched the different planets in our solar system and watched a short film showing twelve animated planets. This sparked our imagination on what we would call our own planets and what life on these planets would be like. The children worked in groups to design and describe their own and there were some very creative and thoughtful responses! I’d love to visit your planet especially Evan and Corey! Well done Class 13!

Year 5 family learning!

Thank you to all the adults who were able to support us this afternoon helping the children create their wonderful solar systems! I can’t wait to see them hanging in our classroom. You all did a fantastic job! 🌍

Water colour planets! 🌍

This afternoon we used our water colour skills to paint our own planets. The children used the paints to add layers of colour and detail to their pictures. We finished off with glitter to add a little extra sparkle.

An added shout out to Taylor for her amazing artwork! Well done Taylor you was so Motivated completing your Earth picture – it will look fantastic on display! 50hps!
