A walk in the woods!

I received a lovely photo from Noah who went for a walk in Thorne Community Woods to find our Y5/6 product! Noah and his brother are stood proudly next to the board which features his slogan ‘This is our home, please leave it alone!’

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our boards! Can you find all 6 boards in the woods? Send us some pictures if you do!

How can we help the World we live in?

This morning, I had the great pleasure of going to Thorne community woods to see our final product. All the propaganda art work looks amazing and the QR codes which takes us to the site all work. On there you can see all the children’s amazing work throughout this expedition.

I would like to give a huge shout out to all the children in Y5/6 who have worked so hard throughout this expedition which we started all the way back in August! Despite COVID restrictions not allowing us to go on school visits the children have really embraced our Autumn expedition and I am really proud of their work on the product and the google site.

Well done Y5/6 and have a fantastic Christmas holidays. You all deserve it.

Christingle!

Crew Knowles enjoyed a Christingle lesson today where we learnt all about the meaning of Christingle and why it is a traditional Christmas celebration.

The lesson was delivered by our class councillor – Corey. Corey used lots of protocols throughout his lesson and delivered a successful silent discussion as well as a whip around! Well done, Corey! You were a super teacher and I think you could give me a run for my money!

Christmas Craft – sneak peek!

Here is a sneak peek of Crew Knowles’ Christmas craft day! We had loads of fun creating cards, calendars, baubles and elves! Watch out for our upcoming video to see more of the fun!

Exploring Trees!

As part of our expedition ‘how can we help the world we live in?’ we have focused on deforestation and the importance of trees. We had an expert visit us in school to teach us how trees adapt to their environment and we had a look around our grounds at some of the different trees. We were shocked how different all of the trees were and the different ways they had adapted to their surroundings!
