Year 2 PE KIT update

From Monday 26th February please can year 2 children bring their PE kits into school every Monday. They will be taking part in kixx (football) outside every Monday afternoon if the weather allows, if not, it will happen in the hall. This is for this term only.

Thanks for your understanding with this change.

Class 7 – A Fun Final Friday!

Wow – what a fantastic day to end my time as Class 7’s teacher! We’ve enjoyed fantastic lessons, including some brilliant story sequencing and retelling, as well as squeezing in some party games and a dance-off to end the day.

We have also said goodbye to our lovely student, Oliver, from Trinity Academy, who has been in class and helping us with our learning this week for his work experience. Thank you for your hard work and professionalism this week, Oliver.

Thank you so much Class 7 for being AMAZING – I can’t wait to see how you all continue smashing Year 2 with Miss Hilton and Miss Good.

Here’s to a lovely, restful half-term for you all, Mrs Dutton x

Class 7 – World Read Aloud Day!

Thank you to all our parents and carers who helped us celebrate World Read Aloud Day, by joining us for a morning reading session in Class 7. What a lovely, calm start to the day – we hope you enjoyed it too!

Class 7 – Super Number Day

Class 7 have made a real effort to celebrate the NSPCC’s number day with some fantastic number-inspired outfits and generous donations to the NSPCC – thank you all!

To help us really get into the number-spirit, we used our maths lesson to design and make our own number themed board games:

KS1 Story Club

Another fantastic story club this week. We enjoyed reading about Winnie the Witch celebrating the Chinese New Year and we found out about the different animals which represent each year in the Chinese tradition. Chinese New Year is going to be celebrated on 10th February this year and it will the year of the dragon! We also enjoyed making ourselves some Chinese lanterns just like we saw in our story. Well done boys and girls!

Year 2 spelling words

These are the spellings that we have been learning and practising this week. Please spend some time with your children reading and looking at these at home also. It really does make a huge difference when they are writing. Thank you for supporting school and your child with their learning.
