Year 3 Cruise Talk! 🛳

Yesterday, Year 3 were lucky to have Reef’s dad in to discuss what a career is like on the seas in the cruise ship industry. It is fair to say the children were excited by what they heard and what they saw, with lots asking and answering a variety of questions.

The children found it interesting that there was a hospital on board, lots of hot tubs and, more importantly, lots of Playstation’s and Xbox games consoles.

The children loved seeing the variety of wildlife that could be seen, especially the sleepy seals and the penguins. I think Cameron definitely inspired lots of people and he definitely has us dreaming of paradise in the Caribbean, as we break up for Easter!

Thank you for the talk! 😆

More visitors for Year 3!

As part of Aspirations Week, Year 3 have had some more visitors helping us to think about what we would like to be when we are older. We had Victoria from a local dance school, showing off the dances from her groups and the amazing trophies they have won. Then we had Geoff who was instantly recognised as the ’drone man’, visiting from XP. He explained how he loves to work with the schools within the Trust and share the stories from our beautiful work!

Thanks for coming in and answering our questions! 😆

Class 10 celebration of learning!

Year 3/4 football tournament! ⚽️

Today, Year 3 and 4 were lucky to be able to visit XP for a tournament against other Trust schools: Norton Juniors and Plover.

The tournament started with a match between both Green Top teams, with a hard fought contest between year 3 and 4. The Year 3 team had a great time, showed lots of resilience and never gave up. They just kept going and scored some beautiful goals. For much of Year 3, this was their first time playing games together, so should be proud of their efforts.

The highlight for Year 3 was their 1-0 win over Plover, with a great move sealing the win. The team defended well and it was great to see a clean sheet being kept!

Year 4 had some hard fought games, winning a number and drawing a couple of others. The game of the tournament was their 4-4 draw, where they never gave up and showed tremendous resilience.

We can’t wait to keep building as teams and improving with more games in the future!

Myself and Mr Taylor really appreciate adults helping out with lifts, we really could not have done it without you.

Thanks once again and enjoy your weekend! 😆

Disgusting digestion!

Class 10 have loved learning all about the human digestive system today with our quite disgusting experiment. We pretended the food bag was our stomach and we mushed up a banana, a biscuit and some orange juice. We all had a little squeeze and made sure the ’enzymes’ were breaking our food down. Next we passed the food through some tights to represent the small intestine and and then we ’pooped’ out the rest of the waste that our body didn’t need.

Im so glad everyone enjoyed our experiment the writing you did after it was so detailed and full of scientific vocabulary. Fantastic learning attitude everyone, thank you for working hard and getting smart.

You could have a look around your house or even venture outside on a walk. Count how many different red things you can find to share with your crew on Monday. You could even take some pictures or draw what you can see.
