Well done to Matilda, who has recently received a distinction for her first singing exam!

It didn’t stop her finding time to do some reading though!

Over the long weekend, George was lucky enough to go on a visit to Amsterdam. Whilst he was there, he made a visit to the house of Anne Frank, someone we had been learning about way back in the autumn term! What a fabulous experience!
This afternoon, we have been treated to some lovely reading from Arnie, George, Eden and William. Great reading lads!
This week, we have been investigating how distance can affect the size of a shadow. We measured the length of the shadow as the light source moved further away before plotting it onto a bar chart.
Here are this week’s spellings for you to practise: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U_p107HggGte31HbcaAzJVAOF0-3cGr9/view?usp=sharing
Year 3 are learning all about tennis in their PE lessons this half term. Today, there were lots of concentrated faces as we practised balancing the ball on our rackets and keeping things under control with some keepy-uppies! Well done, everyone 🙂
We kicked science week off with an experiment to prove that light travels in straight lines. We used three pieces of card and made a hole in each before shining a torch through the hole. We knew that light must travel in straight lines because we could only see the light when all three holes lined up perfectly.
To prove this further, we then moved the middle card and tried to shine the torch through it again. We could no longer see the light from the torch as the light was unable to bend around the middle card.
Keep a look out on the blog this week for what we will be getting up to in our science weeks. We are planning to inspire the children with scientific experiments and visitors with scientific professions! We are very excited to see what the children know already and what they learn!

This afternoon we made the most of the lovely weather by taking our maths lesson outside!
Some wonderful costumes on show today in Class 9. Well done to everyone!
Reading for pleasure!
Matilda, Penny, Millie and Jelly have been sharing their reading books with the rest of the class!
