In maths this week, we have been continuing our work on coordinates. We have been looking at translating shapes and moving them across the grid to a new position.

We had a great family learning last week and all of the teachers were so impressed with those of you that managed to escape the volcano!
Here is a lovely video of all the photos we managed to capture!
Thank you to all those that were able to join us for the fun!
Thank you to those that attended the Y3/4 book launch and bought a copy of our product!
If you couldn’t make it but would still like to purchase a copy they are now available to buy through Parent Pay.
As always, your support with our products is appreciated!
Thank you

Take a look at the celebrations that happened across school over the last couple of weeks to celebrate the King’s Coronation – we all had lots of fun!
An extra shout out to the KS2 choir for singing the backing vocals to the video.
Hope you all enjoy!
Thank you to everyone who attended our book launch last week, it was lovely to see parents, grandparents and children getting involved with the launch of our book that we created in the autumn term. Books are still available for purchase to anyone who would like one, but was unable to attend last week. We hope you enjoy this little video from the event!
Don’t forget our Y3/4 family learning event will take place on Wednesday 17th May at 9.15am. Please come along to join in our activities which link to our expedition: Earth Shattering Events!
We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you, Year 3/4
In maths today, we have been learning all about coordinates and how we can use them to pinpoint exact locations. To practise this and get a better understanding of them, we had a classic game of Battleships, where children battled against each other to find the location of of one another’s ships on the grid!

Thank you to everyone who bought and came to celebrate our book that we created and published as part of our WW2 expedition. It was lovely to see everyone and to see the children so proud of their published work.
Watch out for the video if you autographed your book in front of the green screen!

As mentioned by all the other teachers who have blogged in Y3/4 we have had a wonderful day enjoying the different pavilions and participating in our volcano workshop!
What an amazing day that Year 4 have had at Magna! We were able to experience fire, water, air and earth and the fascinating science behind each of them. We also made our own erupting volcanoes and looked at the way in which samples can be taken to determine the age, force and number of eruptions a volcano has had over a long period of time.
