The partial lunar eclipse in the UK will be visible – weather permitting – during the early hours of 14 March from 3:57 GMT before peaking at 6:19. The best chance of seeing it is by having a clear view of the western horizon.
We would love to see any pictures you manage to capture!
Do you know how shadows are formed?
Use a torch or a light to create some of your own shadows. Take photographs and share them with your Crew Leader.
What is the strangest shadow you can form? Practice making different shapes using your light source.
Make a list of all the solids, liquids and gases that you see within the day. Share your responses in crew.

For the next few weeks we will be consolidating our red words spellings. By this point we would like children to be spelling most of the words from sets 1-3 accurately. For the next few weeks can you practise each set at home and see how many spellings you can remember? Which ones do you need to practise? Each child will be different, work a the set that matches your child’s own ability. Once one step is mastered move on to the next step (or line) of spellings. I wonder how many you will know by the end of this half term?
