In Crew we started to explore the word community and what it means. We began with our Crew community. We used a ball of string to show how we are linked together as part of our crew community. We discussed how we would all then have an impact on our class, key stage and school communities throughout the day. We discussed the importance of community and how we can all have an impact. We focussed on making people smile in our community. We discussed that people in our local community sometimes go through tough times and the things we can do to help those in need.
We decided to re-establish links with the local Smile-a-While group that we worked with last year. We made some cards to send to them to let them know we are still thinking about them. We want to keep our links in the local community alive as we truly value our community at Green Top school. I wonder what other links we can make in our local community this year?
