After the children had performed and supported at the VE Day celebrations in Moorends, the children were surprised with a visit from a local veteran from the RBL. He was so impressed with their performance and the children’s behaviour that he wanted to give them something back. The children were so grateful for their bars of chocolate – they definitely went down a treat!
Keep cool in the warm weather next week with an Ice Pop at Break Time.
50p each.
In keeping with our latest case study of astronauts and following our wonderful family learning event, I decided to give class 6 a treat for being so awesome last week by staying super quiet in the corridors while year 6 completed their SATs. We all enjoyed ROCKET ice-lollies in the quad on Friday afternoon.
Well done class 6!
We’ve had a great day celebrating the end of SATs which started with bacon sandwiches before competing in a dodgeball tournament. We then had a gorgeous time at the park this enjoying the new play area as well as ice cream!
Year 1 and 2 are very excited for their next visitors who are coming into school. They will be coming into school next week and the children will be blown away by this experience. We are asking for £4 per child towards the cost of this fantastic experience. Please pay for your child to experience this through parentpay. Thanks

Walk to School Week is run by the charity Living Streets and is a yearly event to raise awareness of walking and other active ways to travel. This year’s event will be taking place 19 – 23 May 2025. This year’s challenge will see pupils take on The Great Space Walk, encouraging them to travel actively to school every day of the week.
In Crew we will be sharing how we have travelled to school each day. I wonder if you’re up to the challenge?
Extra activities to get involved in:
You could even get involved by counting how many steps you walk each day.
Why don’t you design your own Spacesuit or Alien mascot for ‘Walk To School Week’
How would you design your own pair of walking shoes?
