Local Authority presence in the playgrounds

You may have noticed the stronger families team supporting our end of day routines on the playground today. They have given out face masks and agreed to support us with the parking around Middlebrook Road.

As you are aware I requested in January and followed up in March the protocols for using our site at drop off and collection times.

1. When moving around the school grounds or when invited into the school building, we request that parents:

    • Wear face coverings (unless exempt)
    • Respect social distancing of other site users
    • Refrain from gathering at school entrance and exit points
    • Follow the one way system previously in place around the school site

2. Children will be supported to;

    • Only mix with those in their year group, having separate zones at lunchtimes and playtimes and remaining in crew or class groups for learning times.
    • Take part in P.E sessions outside – weather permitting
    •  Uphold enhanced hygiene practices

3. Staff will

    • Wear a face covering when on the playground and drive at the beginning and end of the school day (unless exempt)
    • Ensure children follow enhanced hygiene practices
    • Give children the opportunity to talk, as always, in order to support them with any additional worries or anxieties.
    • Continue to take part in lateral flow testing twice weekly.

Please do not be offended if you are asked to wear a face mask or questioned as to why you aren’t by the stronger families team.

This team have also taken note of the increased traffic on Middlebrook Lane at the end of the school day and will support us with ensuring the entrance to school is safe for students and those walking into and from school.

Thanks

Mrs Claira Salter
