The children were very hands on in this lesson looking at 3D shapes and discussing their properties. The children looked at vertices, edges and faces as well as the shapes of the faces to understand how the shapes are made.
From here, the children then dismantled the shapes in order to look at the structure. Understanding that these are referred to as ‘nets’. Again, the children discussed what shapes made up the net and how the shapes folded together in order to form the 3D shape.
