Another awesome day at Dobroyd Castle. Despite the freezing cold, wet conditions, the children approached every activity with enthusiasm!
Nerves were tested on the Zip Wire – it’s not easy throwing yourself of a ledge 10 metres off the ground (just ask the teachers!) but it was fantastic to see how many children overcame their initial fear and had a go!
The Giant Swing created similar nervous feelings. Being hoisted up in the air, sat on a piece of metal the size of a dinner plate and then being released like a slingshot took great courage – but again so many of our children pushed themselves when faced with the challenge!
Trapeze was not for the faint- hearted, but again our children did us proud. I wonder how many people would jump from a giant totem pole if given the chance? But the Have-a-Go Henry’s of Year 4t ook it in their stride!
The children have also been challenged to work as a team in overcoming obstacles to recover a Knight’s armour – and their teamwork and general knowledge was put to the test in this evening’s fun and games.
The children were certainly ready for their beds tonight and there were very few complaints when bedtime came – especially not from the staff!
We look forward to tomorrow – a little bit sad that it will be our last day!
Massive thankyou to all the staff for making this weekend possible for year 4! As much as we have enjoyed a quiet weekend (sorry jake, lol) We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow to hear all about the fab activities you’ve done 🙂
It sounds like you’ve all had an amazing weekend and really enjoyed reading the blog to see what you’ve been up to. Looking forward to seeing the coach arrive though and getting Martha back.
