We had a lovely end to our Wednesday when parents (and a couple of little visitors) joined us to read aloud together to acknowledge the special day!
We braved the cold for our final Kixx session yesterday and had a fantastic time showing off our newly learned skills in an energetic match.
Thanks so much Coach Kyle. See you next year!
We have lots of events happening in school Wednesday 7th February so please see the following details about how to access school for each event.

As always, thank you for your support! We look forward to seeing you.
Today in Nursery we started this terms Phonics, we will be learning two new sounds a week. The sounds will be posted on the blog each week so you are aware of what the children are focusing on. We are so excited to start this phonics journey 😃
Wow, what can I say. We had some amazing progress last term and it was lovely to speak to parents during SLCs who said that they had noticed lots of improvement win their children’s reading and writing skills. Some children made super progress and have now moved on to the next group to continue learning at a faster pace with Miss Rodgers.
We have now finished consolidating our previous sounds and are moving on to the next stage in our learning. We are learning /or/ this week in our phonics session and we are focussing on writing in sentences. In Shared Reading we have some additional challenges to look out for in our Share Reading books and we are taking to this brilliantly! It is so lovely to see how much more fluent the children are becoming with their reading.

Our New Learning:
What we should already know:
Class 5 really enjoyed their first Mini Kixx session with Coach Kyle today. Today we were working on our running and dribbling skills. Class 5 will continue to have Mini Kixx on Monday afternoons so please ensure children have a warm PE kit suitable for outdoors and a sensible pair of shoes.
This week, the children have been working on their creative side. We have been making and drawing lots of different things linked to our new expedition. Take a look at some of the things we have been getting up to!
Polar Bear Faces
Polar Bear Hand Prints
Trying to create the Northern lights in a polar bear paw print.
WOW! The excitement on the children’s faces when they saw a giant snow globe being blown up out side was magical. Thank you to the friends of Green Top for such a wonderful and exciting treat. The children (and staff) had a brilliant time playing!
This morning, Jason, our Crew Councillor taught us all about Christingle. He showed lots of courage standing in front of the class to share his knowledge. A huge shout out to Toby too who knew lots about the religious tradition! We then made our own Christingle’s and they look fab!
A huge shout out and thank you to everyone who braved the cold on Friday night to support and sing along with our choir it was a fab turn out and the children loved it!
Also, a big thank you to our choir who have been committed to coming along each week and practicing the songs – even at lunch time! It definitely paid off!
Hope you all enjoyed your selection boxes, you deserved them!
