Thesaurus work!

Class 10 have been enjoying upleveling their poems by looking for synonyms in thesauruses. They have impressed me so much as I keep seeing fantastic synonyms appearing in their work!

Literacy labs…construct

Last week in our literacy labs lessons, we focussed on the children constructing and labelling a castle that contained the features that we have learnt about, including a working drawbridge. Some groups were more successful in their builds but all children had fun completing their tasks.

Researching the Queen

We have been learning all about Queen Elizabeth and the royal family. We used different texts and Chromebooks to find interesting facts and information about the Queen and the royal family.

Keep your eyes peeled for their finished products…

Class 7 have been working hard to find halves, quarters and the thirds of shapes, amounts and objects for the last week. They even managed to successfully sort irregular shapes into 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4. Keep up the good work guys!

Tropical world!

What an amazing trip year 5 had this week at Tropical world and Roundhay park. The children had an insight into the environment of a rainforest. They explored their senses and were able to use this to describe the atmosphere. They have since written some very impressive descriptive writing.

Children in need

On Friday the children in nursery joined in with their teachers to wear something spotty for Pudsey! The children listened to Pudseys story and created their own spotty outfits. In maths the children counted out coins on to Pudsey to show how money together makes more to help those children in need. Through out the day lots of fun was had making spotty crafts and reflecting on this special day. Well done nursery and thank you for your donations!
