Elfie has come to meet class 10!

Elfie has flown over to class 10 to see all their fabulous learning! He has sent elf initiation tests for children to complete and this morning was a reading one!

I must say I am extremely impressed with all of class 10 as is Elfie!

Elfie is choosing a child a day who has shown good learning alien characteristics to have a selfie with Elfie to send back to Santa. Today has been Jake for being a have-a-go Henry!

Well done everyone and I wonder what Elfie has instore for us tomorrow!

Amazing theme work

The children worked in teams to create fact files about The Queen. They worked collaboratively reading facts around the room and researching on the chrome books. Well done class 8 you were amazing!

Fantastic spelling

The children in class 8 are working hard to improve their spelling and this was evident in their spelling touchdown last week.

Christmas light switch on

Well done to our amazing choir who ensured the community of Thorne were well and truly in the Christmas Spirit. A great start to the festivities as part of the Thorne Christmas Light Switch On. Thanks to Mrs Gutteridge for organising such an awesome melody. It was lovely to see so many parents and staff supporting the event.

Poetry and Singing at ‘Smile a While’

On Monday, Class 12 had the pleasure of performing their celebration songs and poem verses in front of people at ‘Smile a While’. They very much enjoying sharing their theme work and swapping some stories with the people there. Thank you very much for our gifts as well!

Class 10’s challenge!

I have set class 10 the challenge of increasing their accelerated reader times! Even though we can not take school books home; the majority of children’s books are on accelerated reader meaning children can read personal books at home and then quiz on them in school! If you could support your child reading at home it would be really appreciated. £100 class cash for every time a child reads a full book at home and quizzes on it in school!

We can do this class 10!

Car Racing

It is getting a little cold outside so we used our guttering from the water area to make speed ramps for the cars. We had lots of fun racing the cars and adapting our ramps to make them faster. We realised that the steeper the ramp was the faster the car travelled.

Fun Outdoors

On Tuesday the children noticed ice in the outdoor area. We had lots of fun breaking the ice and watching it melt and drip out of our warm hands. It is definitely getting colder outside. Please remember to send your children with a warm coat, hat, gloves, scarf and suitable outdoor shoes.
