Nursery Sports morning is on Wednesday 11th June 9 – 11 am on the school field – weather permitting.
Please make sure your child comes to school with sun cream on, a sun hat and a water bottle. Children may come to school on this day in comfy clothing and trainers.
We hope you can make the event and support your child in their first school sports day.

This week the children have loved Mr Kershaw’s visit to Nursery. The children had to work as a team and maintain excellent communication skills to hold the pipes in the required position for the water to flow through to the end. At times the pipe fell and water spilled. The children had to think critically and make changes for the water to flow without spilling. It was a big challenge! I was so proud of all of the children and their awesome attitude towards this challenge. No frustration – just team work and a few soggy toes!
The nursery children have been working really hard today to correctly form the letter ‘t’ and ‘a’. They then were challenged to write some CVC words such as ‘cat, mat, pat and sat’ which some children achieved brilliantly! A massive well done for your hard work and for ‘getting smart’ Nursery crew!
We had such a lovely day in Reception today, we have been celebrating VE day. We learned about why we celebrate VE day and did some activities.

The children have been working really hard in phonics today looking at the letter ‘s’. The children have written the grapheme and practised orally blending words which include ‘s’. E.g. s-i-t, s-a-t, s-o-ck. I wonder… Can your child find objects around the house which begin with ‘s’?
The children were so engaged and excited about their learning today in Nursery. They were busy mark making, designing and creating their own knight’s shield, using loose parts for role play and small world scenarios, building castles in the construction area, printing with sponges and role playing what happens in a fairytale castle. WOW! It was a joy to see the children playing collaboratively and independently with all of the provision so beautifully.
A huge thank you to all who joined us for our family learning and fundraiser today. It looks like all the children had a wonderful time and were able to get some goodies to take home.
We raised £101.20 for our expedition learning.

As the weather is finally getting warmer, we kindly ask you to apply suncream to your child before they come to school.
We ask for or you to provide your child with a NAMED bottle of suncream, hat and water bottle to ensure sun safety for our children. Please ensure bottles are only filled with water.
You will be asked to sign next to your child’s name when you bring in the suncream to Nursery or Reception which gives staff permission to apply your child’s suncream to your child should they need help to do this. Please give the suncream to a member of staff and not place it in your child’s bag (we have had a few explosions in the past!).
Your child’s suncream can then remain in their class and returned to you at the end of the summer term.
