As part of our faith day today, we have been working hard on creating some beautiful Rangoli patterns and designs linked to Diwali!

As part of our faith day today, we have been working hard on creating some beautiful Rangoli patterns and designs linked to Diwali!
We had a brilliant science lesson today learning all about reproduction in plants and the different parts of a plant!
We built up our background knowledge, through watching videos, reading, playing games and finally dissecting a lily! Lilies are great to be able to see the different male and female parts of a plant really clearly!
Crew Knowles had a great morning at the library today! The staff were so lovely letting the children behind the desk and also setting up a treasure hunt for them. Some children even won some lovely handmade bookmarks for completing it! Thank you to Thorne Library for having us!
Well done to our Y5&6 footballers who took part in fixtures this afternoon against King Edward. Despite the results everyone had great fun and showed excellent skills throughout all the matches. Well done Y5&6!
In reading today we tried to be more active by finding our inference questions around the room! I was really impressed with everyones efforts in reading today and their skills to find appropriate evidence!
Another lovely week celebrating lots of success in our Year 5/6 Crews! Once again it was lovely to hear lots of shout outs linking to our character traits and hearing positive things about different children!
Keep up the great work everyone!
This week in crew, Crew Knowles shared their writing with each other offering verbal critique. We remembered to be kind, helpful and specific with our critique to support our peers with the rest of their writing!
This week in RE, we looked at building background information on the different forms of the Hindu god. We learned about Ganesha, Lakshmi and Vishnu to name just a few. We also managed to get in some active learning by moving around the classroom to collect the information!
Crew Knowles won attendance last week and were the only crew in school to have 100% attendance! Therefore we have won a huge ÂŁ10 for our crew kitty!!
We are excited to announce that auditions for this year’s school production will be taking place via video submission.
Your child will be bringing home a script for the role or roles they wish to audition for. To take part, they should record a short video of themselves reading for that part (or parts). If they would also like to include singing the relevant song, this can be found on YouTube.
Once recorded, please email your child’s audition video(s) to [email protected] no later than 3rd October.
This approach allows every child the opportunity to audition in a relaxed environment and ensures we can give each submission the time and attention it deserves.
We look forward to seeing the children’s talents shine and are excited to begin casting our production. Thank you in advance for your support in helping your child prepare their audition.
Kind regards,
The Sherlock and Cinders Crew
