Well done to all of our winners this week! It was fabulous listening to how great you’ve been this week. A huge well done to Crew Rodger’s again for having fantastic attendance and being our phase winners this week. I love our assemblies and hope all of the adults enjoy them too. Can’t wait for next week too!
Today in expedition we began our new art case study. We began by looking at the artist David Hockney and some of the artwork that has made him famous. We found out that most of his artwork consists of paintings, collages and even digital art, which is something we will be using ourselves in our final product. We created an artist page for Hockney that included different facts and pictures that we had researched. The children did an incredible job and should be proud of the effort they put into their handwriting and presentation!
Here are some of the final designs.
Thank you to Jersey and Robyn who did a fantastic job of reading a story to the class! The children absolutely loved it!
There has been so much great homework being done in Class 9 this week. Take a look at some of the examples below.
Millie has been working hard on designing a propaganda poster whilst Myles has been calculating which World War 2 related items he can buy whilst keeping within a budget!
Ruby and Elea have both been working hard on their handwriting this week. Take a look at the quality they have both produced!
William and Jude have both been working hard on their maths this week. William has completed an arithmetic challenge whilst Jude has been working on place value.
Finally, Arnie has been designing his own T-Shirt for our American-themed day. Looks like you’ve done a great job Arnie!
It’s fair to say that baseball was a hit with Year 1 and 2 during our American day. I was so impressed with the skill showed and how accurate their shots were. We practiced our hitting and there were some definite home runs! Well done Year 1 and 2!

As part of reading week, Class 9 made a visit to Thorne Library to have a look at the wide-range of books they have available! It was good for the children to have a look at new books they hadn’t read before.
As a celebration of Reading Week and to help decorate our reading area class 6 have a request. We would like to display photographs of us reading in unusual places. This could be in the garden, in the dark, in the bath, in the dog’s kennel…the more unusual the better! Be as imaginative and inventive as you like! See below for photographs of past year groups for inspiration!
You can print them and send them in or email them to me at…
Thank you in advance
Miss R x
We had a lovely morning today visiting Thorne Library as part of our reading week! Some of our children loved going behind the desk and learning how to check out books and some even checked out some for themselves!
