We were very lucky to have an amazing Family Learning session in F2 this afternoon. We were exploring our expedition focusing on how things grow and change. We were thinking about things that help us to grow and change like a healthy diet, exercise, taking care of our teeth and looking after our bones.
A massive thank you to all the grown ups who managed to join us this afternoon. It was lovely to see so many faces and the children really enjoyed welcoming you into their classrooms.
Are you passionate about improving the life chances of young people, by supporting their social, emotional and academic needs, and developing the whole child?
Well done to those who have taken part in our challenges so far – you’ve done a fantastic job! Here is the challenge for day 4! There are 3 different levels for you to choose from depending on whether or not you want a challenge!
Remember to send your pictures of the things you find to your teachers or to [email protected]
We can’t wait to see what you find on your scavenger hunt!
Reminder that Year 3 and 4 family learning will take place Wednesday 8th February 9.15-10.15am. There will be refreshments in the hall from 8.30am should you want to wait after drop off or you can enter through the office from around 9.10am.
This is just a small selection of the children’s work today, which shows that they understand the main parts of a plant, as well as the functions of the parts of a plant.
These labelled diagrams look fantastic and show just how much pride the children are taking in their work this term.
Today some children in year 2 began their accelerated reading journey. They completed their star reader test and will be using them once a week to access books that they have read in class. Can’t wait to see the improvement in their comprehension and reading skills!
As day 3 in our nail biting times tables slam draws to a close Crew Schon are still in the lead with an average of 187 correct answers per pupil compared with Crew Rodgers 142. Remember that only questions answered in “Garage’ will count towards our scores. You can also change the length of each game…1, 2, or 3 minutes. Over 2/3 of each class is now playing regularly! What an amazing and fun way to Get Smart in your maths learning! Miss Schon and I are blown away by how enthusiastic you all are about our competition and learning your times tables but please remember to limit screen time and to ensure that you are not allowing other family members to answer the questions for you. Practise really does make perfect. If it is not you who is answering the equations you won’t improve as you should, and will be given tables that do not match your ability. Remember, the competition ends at 8am on Friday morning (3rd February) and a new 12 hour whole-school competition will begin in aid of the NSPCC to celebrate National Number Day. We hope you are having a think about what number or maths based costume you could wear for school on that day.
We’ve seen some more huge jumps today on TTRockstars and it’s getting close amongst the top five places! Its great to see some new faces moving high up on the leaderboard!
Today, we introduced the children to their next genre of writing. To kick start their learning, the children were faced with a WAGOLL in which they had to find and identify features they already knew. I was blown away by their hard work and also presentation of their group work. Very impressive class 10 keep being awesome!
Fractions are proving to be a hit in class 10 and the children are getting very excited about their learning. It’s so great to see then all working hard and collaboratively and their confidence is growing massively. Super proud guys, well done.
