Here is a round up of all our postcard winners and certificate recipients from class 7 last week. What a bunch of amazing little people you all are. So proud of you guys!
It was such a pleasure to see all the children in class 7 dressed up as their favourite book character for World Book Day last week. We did lots of fun reading and book based activities throughout the day and I was able to share my love of books by reading some of my favourite rhymes and stories.
I think we should have a dress up day every week!
In maths this afternoon, class 9 were challenged to see how many arithmetic questions they could complete, each sheet was timed for 1 minute each.
It was definitely a week for the boys as Charlie B got 17/18 in magic maths, also Ellis and Charlie W got 8/10 for big maths beat that! Well done boys!
Great efforts from everyone, super proud of you all!
I wonder who will beat they’re score next week!
At Young Voices, we had the privilege to sing ‘Proud’ with award winning singer Heather Small. The song was recorded during rehearsals on the day and has been made into a single. The CD is now available to purchase on the link below. All proceeds will go towards the Young Voices Charity ‘Place2Be’ which is a charity that supports Children’s mental health. Thanks for all of your support with this!

The Big Battery Hunt is a nationwide battery recycling programme for schools funded by Duracell. Its aim is to increase the number of batteries currently being recycled in the UK. Pupils are challenged to collect as many batteries as they can, encouraging their communities to do the same.
All you need to do is take any unwanted batteries into school and give them to your school councillor. The school council will collect the batteries, keep count of them and recycle them for you. Let’s see how many we can collect this year!
Here’s a selection of beautiful work from across our Trust this week!

Yesterday, in Class 10 we celebrated World Book Day!
We had some amazing costumes and it was so good to see everyone getting involved in our day. Check out what they’ve been up to!
During CREW we went on a book hunt to find the jigsaw pieces of some books before putting them together and discussing what types of books they were and whether we think others would enjoy them. We also completed a character quiz, with everyone smashing the answers!
After that we shared our favourite books that we brought in, reading a page to our groups and using some questions to help us explain different elements of the book. We then wrote some book reviews about our books before we got to share them. The reviews were read aloud and then I read a page from the book to the class and we discussed why others should read that book.
After lunch we looked at book blurbs and their purpose before we began to write our own, using one of four pictures for inspiration. Everyone in the class got stuck into this activity, coming up with some super creative ideas! We then had a go at writing a small section of a story inside the book as well as giving it a title – our very own books.
