Class 11 plant experiment! 🌱💦

Class 11 have been looking at how water is transported through plants. We learned that plants have a special method, called xylem, which pushes the water up through the stem. We then learned about transpiration, which means that water evaporates and is recycled into the soil, to be used again. We used some fantastic vocabulary in our predictions. We’re testing how water transports through celery, with food colouring to show this. We think that the celery should turn red, because the water should travel up through the celery. Class 11 are excited to see how this looks on Monday!

NSPCC Rocks!

Well done to the classes in our school who participated in the NSPCC Rocks battle! Here are some of our results!

Y2 TTRockstars!

WOW what a week it has been for TTRockstars in year 2! In class 8, Macky was our class winner, racking up nearly 7,000 coins! However Charlie W smashed it right out of the park for class 9 with a WHOPPING 12,457 coins!!!

There has been so much fun and engagement with the whole thing and it is wonderful to see so many children loving practising their times tables. If you haven’t been on yet, give it a go! You might even beat Charlie and Macky….. I wonder who will win the competition next week…
