Year 6 Leavers assembly and pass out

WOW! This year has passed so quickly and we have made so many new memories in year 6. We are so proud of each and everyone of the year 6 children and the amazing journey they have been on during their time at Green Top.

Friday was an emotional day for staff, year 6 children and their families too. In case you were too busy smiling and laughing (or crying!) please find the pass out photos and the videos from the leavers assembly below.

Beautiful Work This Week

“Every young person should learn about climate change in school. It’s marginal to most people’s curriculums – not XP School as you’re such a brilliant school”

Ed Miliband – Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero

After the success of our inaugural conference last year and with climate change at the heart of our activism as a Trust, we held this year’s event on 13th July with the question: If not now, when? If not us, who?

The programme for the evening featured the work and research of our Year 10 students and the contribution of experts from across our region.

Powerful keynote speeches, delivered by six students left the audience in no doubt that the planet is in crisis and action has to be taken now.

What that action might be was ably and inspiringly answered by the panellists taking part in our Q & A.

These were The RT. Hon Ed Miliband MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero; David Pulham, UK Manager Vossloh and Tim Newton, Sustainability officer, Doncaster City Council.

The conference also featured many stalls covering such subjects as Sustainability and ‘greener’ food, as well as scientific demonstrations and break out discussions.

One of the breakout presentations was delivered by Dr Mike Sprakes, Gastroenterologist, Mid Yorks Hospitals NHS Trust and Peter Leighton Jones, Head of Sustainability, Mid Yorks Hospitals NHS Trust.

Their talk focussed on Climate Change and the NHS.

We’re already thinking about next year’s conference – but more importantly if you can pledge to make a difference all year round we can all work together to save our planet. There is no Planet B.

KS1 assembly

A huge congratulations to everyone in key stage one today you have all worked your little socks off this year and you should all be really proud of yourselves. 🥹Also a huge well done to our certificate winners and crew Rodgers for winning the attendance!! Todays assembly was a little emotional as it’s the last time year 2 get to sing our special song at the end. 🥰

Y6 Leavers Party

What a night we had celebrating our amazing Year 6 children. From beach volleyball to limbo to a dance off – we had so much fun and never stopped smiling and laughing all evening. Check out the photos below – some people were a little camera shy and wouldn’t visit the photo booth so hopefully we managed to catch everyone at some point!

Wristbands for sale!

Our Y3/4 children will be selling wristbands every day until the end of term to raise money! They created these wristbands as part of their expedition this term on natural disasters and want to support British Red Cross disaster relief charity.

Wristbands are £1 each and they will come around to each class daily with them. There are four different slogans to choose from …

#WeLavaVolcanoes

#VolcanoesRock

#RideTheTsunamiWave

#OffTheRichterScale

All wristbands also say Crew Green Top!

You can buy as many wristbands as you would like. As always, thank you for your support!

Reception sports day!

A Huge well done to all of the children in reception today. You made everyone so proud today with how well you did in your races and your sportsmanship towards all members in your crews was lovely to see.
All the staff would also like to say a big THANK YOU to all the parents for your supports today from cheering for the children to joining in with all the activities afterwards. We hope you enjoyed it as much and us and the children did.
