New to Y1 superstars!

I have been truly blown away by how wonderfully the children have settled in to their new class over the last two days. They have worked so hard to produce work for our pen portrait on Valentina Tereshkova as part of the school-wide history week celebrations and have stuck to the HoWLs and classroom rules that they helped to produce. I hope you all have a fantastic summer and I can’t wait to see you again when you begin year one for real at the end of August.

Great job guys!

Crew Spetch – Yr5 Transition

Wow, what a lovely two days I’ve had getting to know my new Crew! We’ve enjoyed lots of history, researching the moon landing and the ‘Forgotten Astronaut’ and made some fab balloon rockets which we enjoyed launching this afternoon! I’ve been blown away by how well everyone has worked together as a crew and I can’t wait to see all you can achieve next year as Crew Spetch!!

Free books!

Please pop along to the gazebo in KS2 playground tomorrow and Friday to grab yourself some free books which are in need of a new home!

They will be out in the morning and at the end of the day.

Thank you

Mrs Shaw’s new to year 2 beautiful work!

We have had such a super couple of days getting to know each other and learning all about our new astronaut: Valentina Tereshkova! The children have created a fantastic fact file about her life and I think they look amazing. They have been showing me their beautiful writing, their fantastic art skills, as well as their cutting and sticking skills. On top of that they blew me away this afternoon with the amount of information that they could recall about Valentina’s life. Super stars!

Have a great Summer guys and I will see you when you officially start in year 2…I can’t wait!

Crew Jackson – History week

This week as part of transition from year 5 to year 6, we have researched Michael Collins who is often referred to as the forgotten astronaut. Today I have been blown away by the effort the children have put into producing posters about this amazing astronaut.

Crew Jackson – Fun marshmallow challenge!

This morning we demonstrated great team work as we collaborated on using the given resources to create the tallest free-standing tower. It wasn’t long before we realised dry spaghetti snaps easily! We had 3 successful towers out of 5 – the tallest being 60cm.

When reflecting on their team work, we noticed the most successful teams were those that shared and planned out their ideas first, listened carefully to each other and didn’t get cross when faced with a problem but looked for a solution.

Year 5 Graduation Day

We had a fabulous graduation day in year 5 celebrating graduation day. It was great to reflect on our pledges from the start of the year and see how far we have come. We also thought about what we could work on next year as we move into year 6.

Here is our year 5 graduation video.
