Class 12 – Visit to Thorne Library! 📚

Visit to Thorne Library

On Monday, as part of reading week, the children were given the chance to visit Thorne library. We had a huge selection of books that the children were able to take a look through. It was good opportunity for the children to find something they were interested in and hopefully engage them more with their reading.

Class 12: Life as a Roman Soldier!

In expedition, we have been looking at what life would be like as a Roman soldier. We looked at the different equipment that a soldier would carry and wear and tried to label the soldier using the Latin names for the items. We then looked at different soldiers within the Roman army and how a Roman legion was structured.

Class 11 trying to crack the code

Some of the children in Class 11 tried to crack the safe code today to get the treats!

It hasn’t been opened yet – better luck tomorrow! If you crack the code, you also get a brand new book prize! Remember it is 50p a go all week!

Class 6 Reading Week – Day 1

We had a very exciting start to reading week today when we logged into a podcast of a real live author discussing and reading his book. James Catchpole told us all about his latest book – You’re So Amazing – about a boy called Joe who has one leg. James – who has one leg himself – then showed off his amazing football skills. We were all super impressed!

We are so looking forward to the rest of the week and immersing ourselves in reading!

Don’t forget that we are holding a book sale all week with books only 50p!

Class 5 Wonderful Homework

I am so impressed with the children’s attitude towards their home learning. Not only are they practising their reading and Numbots but we have also had some beautiful home learning. Thank you so much to everyone who has sent in beautiful homework. We are really enjoying sharing our homework in our crew sessions and the children have been adding their HoWL point to our class charts. I wonder who will be this week HoWL point winner?

Here is a selection of just some of the homework we have celebrated:

Nyah made the Bakery on Pudding Lane – This is amazing Nyah! What a super model.

Class 5 Box Models

Today the children have been making box model Tudor Houses. I was so impressed with their independence and skills. Thank you to Mrs Green and Mrs Hardman who also helped the children today. What amazing models they are! We still have some finishing off to do on some of the models but the children have done a great job. Well Done Class 5!

Class 5 Numbots

I am so proud of how the children are challenging their own learning at home as well as at school. Many of the children in Class 5 have logged into Numbots and passed levels though playing the games. On Friday we had our first Numbots certificate presentation. Look how many certificates have been earned in the first few weeks! Keep it up Class 5!

Look how many children have completed the first level of Numbots! Congratulations to you all.
